ეტყობა ჩამოსულები მეზღვაურები იყვნენ, ან უბრალოდ წყლის დიდი თაყვანისმცემლები, რადგან დღეს ამ სოფლის ქუჩები არა ქვაფენილით მოქირწყლული, არამედ არხებით არის გაჭრილ-გამოჭრილი.
