ჩვეულებრივ თანამედროვე არქიტექტურაში მაღალი ხის შენობების შნება დაშვებული არაა უსაფრთხოების ნორმების გამო, მაგ.როგორიცა ხანძრი.თუმცა კანადელ არქიტექტორს მაიკლ გრინს დადგენილი ნორმების შეცვლა სურს ვანკუვერის 30 სართულიანი ცათამბჯენით.მისი თქმით ფენებად დაწყობილი ლამინირებული ხის გიგანტური პანელი უფრო ცეცხლგამძლეა ვიდრე სტანდარტული 5/10სმ. კედელი.ის ასევე უბრო ეკოლოგიურია ვიდრე ტრადიციული რკინა–ბეტონის ნაგებობა.ლონდონში დგას უკვე 9 სართულიანი ხის შინობა,კირკრნესში(ნორვეგია)კი 16 სართულიანი. გრინის მიზანია იაფი საცხოვრებლით უზრუნველყოს ბარაკებში მცხოვრები მოსახლეობა.
