This is where I kind of wanted some proof, because to me this does not look inevitable with no EA going out of the way opening a line of dialog and offering countless millions, although this might be the situation.
Fair enough if true, it astonishing to me evil and/or greedy a lot of level executives are. 2K was just doing this as a one-time stunt for a year to violate Madden's stranglehold. You got to get it get out the word, although they put a ton of work to the product. They did everything you are supposed to do in a free market and did everything by the book. I think it says a great deal that EA pushed for it for several years.It is troubling to me which passings yards/touchdowns are the only criteria which determine a QB's dev attribute. Now Derek Carr is currently playing great football. High completion percentage (3rd in the league) great passer rating (7th), strong Y/A (12th), great DVOA (3rd).Of course, none of this matters to the Madden formulation, since he's 16th and 15th in the league in yards and touchdowns respectively due to the way the Raiders' offense works (utilizing plenty of shorter throws to gain first-down yardage and running the ball a bit).
Philip Rivers leads the league in passing yards--I think most would agree he has had but he would probably receive a dev attribute increase. I simply don't buy that it may be difficult to implement ways to assess progress Madden players. There are Madden players that have high value to system and their team and would be difficult to buy mut coins madden 20exchange for, yet this might not be reflected in their own stats. I get that it is a bit more difficult but I think in a video game setting it should be possible for a system that is nuanced and more complicated to be executed.
